Located in Southeast Sulawesi Province, Indo🦩nesia, the CNI project is the country’s first industrial project invested by a local Indonesian owner and contracted to China ENFI on an EPC basis. The project employs advanced RKEF process and is equipped with China ENFI’s patented 72MVA rectangular electric furnace☂ (the largest of its type in Indonesia) and hot calcine transfer system, to produce ferronickel with a 22% Ni grade. Each production line is designed to produce approximately 125,000t/a of nickel equivalent ferronickel products, positioning the project as a new benchmark in Indonesia’s ferronickel smelting industry upon commissioning.
With the successful energization of the electric furnace on April 6, the slag tapping on April 18, and the ferronickel production🏅 on April 27, the project has set a record in the industry for large-scale rectangular ferronickel electric furnaces by completing the entire process from furnace energization to ferronickel output in just 21 days.
